At its October meeting, the DVCUD governing board unanimously approved CUD membership for Weston, further expanding the district and its vision for reliable, affordable high-speed internet in southeastern Vermont.

In order to join the CUD, a town’s selectboard must vote to submit an application and it must appoint a representative and up to two alternates. The Weston selectboard voted unanimously and appointed “Rusty” H. William Davis as representative. Alternates will be appointed at a future meeting.

While Weston is in Windsor County, it is part of the Windham Regional Planning commission district. With Weston’s entrance, the Deerfield Valley Communications Union District now serves residents in three Vermont counties: Bennington, Windham, and Windsor.
